Youth Program: Registration is now OPEN

 

     We run four sessions a year through the fall, winter and spring seasons, with a break in the summer. No experience is necessary, all levels are welcome. Any excluded (holidays and such) days are listed below.  Each session is 16 classes (except for 5-7 yrs which are 8 classes)  unless specified otherwise.  The 5-7 year courses have a 4:1 climber to instructor ratio, and all the rest have a 6:1 instructor to climber ratio.

    Days typically start with a dynamic warm up time followed by a technical lesson.  Sessions include both one-on-one scheduled instructor time where each climber has an instructor all to themselves to help them work on whatever climb or level they are currently working on, and group sessions, where climbers are split into groups of similar ability to work on a specific drill/technique/activity suitable for their ability. There is also a specific lesson/drill portion of each session, where we teach a set of specific techniques or run drills/exercises to practice them. Sessions all end with a final round of stretches. On weekends, sessions run a bit different, we open the gym up early for the youth program (we have the gym all to ourselves until noon) so we combine two youth groups at once and bring in a few more instructors to help.

Our instructors have lots of experience working with kids of all ages. We have a whole crew  that help us carry out the lessons/drills and helping the kids one-on-one, they are all strong climbers as well, made up from the gym's staff and a couple of our regular members, there's a great mix of styles and experience for the kids to draw from.

Once a Week: Ages 5-7
(includes gym membership and rentals for the duration of the session)

 

Mondays 4:30- 5:30pm OR 5:30-6:30pm
First Day: Sept 12th

  • $130 +HST

 

 Twice a week: Ages 8-10
(includes gym membership and rentals for the duration of the session)

 

Wednesday 4:30-6:30pm & Sunday 9-11am
First Day: Sept. 14th

  • 15 sessions total
  • 12 spots available
  •  $280+HST (eligible for childrens tax credit)

 

Twice a Week: Ages 11-13
(includes gym membership and rentals for the duration of the session)

 

Tuesdays 4:30-6:30pm & Sundays 11-1pm OR Thursdays 4:30-6:30pm & Sundays 11-1pm
First Day: September 13th or September 15th

  • 15 sessions total
  • 12 spots available
  • $280+HST (eligible for children's fitness tax credit)

 

Twice a Week: Ages 14-18
(includes gym membership and rentals for the duration of the session)

 

Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm, OR Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm
First Day: Sept 12th or Sept 13th

  • 16 sessions total
  • 12 spots available
  • $300+hst (kids under 16 eligible for children's fitness tax credit)

 

Competitive Team Ages 10-19 (By Invitation Only) (12 week sessions)

  • Three-four times a week/9 month season
  • 12 spots max. available
  • $500+hst

All Twice a Week Youth Programs Include:

  • 2 month gym membership ($120 value) - Having a membership enables youth climbers to come in and climb on any other day for free
  • Shoe, chalk and harness rentals ($160 value)
  • Members 14 and older are taught to top rope belay
  • Members 14 and older have the option of learning to lead climb

5-7 Mondays: April 3rd - May 29th (7 CLASSES)
8-10 Wednesday/Sunday:   April 2nd-May 28th (15 CLASSES)

11-13 Tuesday/Sunday: April 2nd-May 28th (15 CLASSES)

11-13 Thursday/Sunday:   April 2nd-May 28th (15 CLASSES)

14-18 Monday/Wednesday: March 27th- May 29th(15 CLASSES)

14-18 Tuesday/Thursday: April 4th- May 25th
