Coyote will be introducing a new course to help climbers transition from indoor lead climbing to outdoor lead climbing safely!

This course will cover:

Part 1: The Essentials

Gear Selection, Tethers, Draws and Stick clipping, Knots, Fixed Gear, Anchors, Ground Anchors

Part 2: Cleaning routes

Communication, Cleaning Routes, Bailing, Demonstrations and Practice!

Timing

The course requires 8 hours of instruction (this can be split into two four hour sessions upon request), with an optional additional 4 hours for teaching rappelling.

Cost

2:1 Ratio $250/participant

4:1 Ratio $200/participant

Rappelling addon $150/participant

James Laframboise

James began rock climbing in 2017. He quickly progressed as he has been alpine climbing since childhood. James enjoys outdoor climbing, he spends his free time sending hard at local crags in Ottawa such as Calabgoie and Luskville. James has accomplished many ascents of  peaks in Asia and South America with high altitude experience up to 8,000 m. In the winters, James focuses his energy on ice climbing, sending climbs such as Hydrophobia WI5+ and Caveman M10. He is currently working towards becoming a certified alpine guide with the AMGA. James is passionate about getting people stoked on outdoor climbing! His certifications include:

Dante Rabbai

Dante started climbing in 2019 and quickly became hooked, turning into a Coyote regular. After spending a few months developing all the key climbing skills at Coyote, he made the transition outdoors where Dante now spends most of his free time. With a passion for both climbing as well as teaching, Dante is now pursing a career in the outdoor industry. His certifications include:
